The Puffer jacket is back! Whether you style it off shoulder, zipped or wrapped up they’re designed for style. Brands such as Tod’s and Haider Ackermann are embracing the cosy image on the runway and getting everyone wrapped up. With the first jacket being created by Eddie Bauer in 1936 to help prevent further hypothermia problems, “Skyliner” as it was known back then has reappeared multiple times through the fashion ages, developing through being designed as an evening jacket to being used practically as a sleeping bag. We wanted to round up some of our favourite brands that we have seen on the runways this season.
Tod’s is an Italian leather brand who specialises in shoes, resided by Diego Della Valle. We selected this jacket as puffer jackets are traditionally made with a duvet style in mind but this leather style rocks and would stand out from the crowd.
Haider Ackerman inspired by the work of Yves Saint Laurent traveled to Belgium in 1994 and studied fashion design at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. In 2001, Ackermann created his own label and presented his first women’s wear collection in March 2001 during Paris fashion week. We picked this jacket because it still has a traditional puffer look but with a sophisticated jacket look.
AI Riders On The Storm Fall/Winter 2017
One of our favourite brands AI Riders On The Storm have been creating adventure style pieces since 2000. The creator Giovanni Chicco embraces the life of the traveler, someone who connects with the Earth and never wants to stop discovering. The jackets are designed to withstand any challenges you may face, whether its difficult weather conditions or ethical threats it will withstand the conditions.
